After years of working on issues facing families and children globally, Shannon Senefeld, Psy.D., is now focusing on making a difference for adults and children locally. Managing issues, allocating resources, and striving to create the best environment for our children and ourselves can be accomplished in many ways.

Dr. Senefeld brings her expertise and experience to evaluating and assessing all clients where they are socially, emotionally, and academically, analyzing a variety of information, and developing specific recommendations for optimal outcomes.

Dr. Senefeld specializes in psychological assessment and intervention. She does psychological testing evaluations that identify specific learning disorders, strengths, and weaknesses. She also performs early childhood development evaluations which test developmental milestones of the brain for children under 6 years of age. Well respected by educators, these tests and their outcome and recommendations can make all the difference to both children and their parents. Dr. Senefeld often tests and provides results before other providers can schedule a test. Insights from these tests often change the course of a child’s life, ensuring the appropriate resources, education, and support are available for them to live their best lives. Dr. Senefeld also performs comprehensive psychological evaluations for adults.

For those of all ages, Dr. Senefeld offers CogMed coaching. Cogmed Working Memory Training is an evidence-based program for helping children, adolescents, and adults sustainably improve attention by training their working memory.  Computer-based training, using a Mac or PC includes five weeks of training – 25 training sessions of 30-40 minutes each – and weekly coach calls with Dr. Senefeld.Dr. Senefeld also provides psychological intervention, using a cognitive behavioral approach.
