Laura K. Frazier, Ph.D.

Doctor of Psychology focused on building resilience in facing a variety of mental health challenges.

Laura K. Frazier, Ph.D. focuses on building resilience and results with her patients in her treatment of anxiety, depression, and mood disorders in children, adolescents, and adults. She has problem solving in her genes – her grandfather was instrumental in starting UMBC, her father was a physician, but she was most influenced by watching her sibling face challenges with learning disabilities and issues that have only been more recently recognized by the medical community as POTS.  As a result, she specializes in more complex presentations, where more than one condition or factor exists, and she uses a combination of approaches including cognitive-behavioral therapy with her patients.

Prior to earning her doctorate, Dr. Frazier worked as an elementary school counselor in the public school system, providing students with educational planning and personal-social development. She has experience treating school refusal and insights into the school policies and procedures to manage this condition and support the student

Dr. Frazier has experience working with LGBT issues, self-injury behavior, and psychological issues involving mental control and flexibility which emerge in secondary and college years. Her past positions included supporting college campuses in mental health issues and she is experienced with the issues related to that population.

Dr. Frazier has a special passion for the therapeutic issues associated with Dysautonomia (POTS) patients of all ages. Dr. Frazier recognizes this disease and understands the treatment, the personality dimensions and behaviors that benefit from therapy.

Dr. Frazier is a Maryland native, a Terp, a Navy wife, and mother of three. She works with the providers at CPE Clinic, LLC.  CPE Clinic, LLC is compromised of leading psychiatrists and psychologists who offer experience, expertise, and access in the field of mental health.
